Asking from God in Prayer

Philippians 4:6 tells us to bring our requests to God. God delights when His children come to Him and ask. But what about when God doesn’t answer my prayers. I’ll have to let you know when that happens! God always answers prayer…every time! To be fair, we don’t always like the answer. But we can rest assured that He will always answer. Sometimes He says, “yes”. We experience great joy and happiness when we ask God for something and He responds exactly how we ask. Sometimes He says “no”. We don’t like that as much. But if we’re thoughtful, we’ll realize that God often says “no” because we’re asking “too small”. It’s in those times we need to ask with the old “but not my will, yours be done” attitude. God, if I ever ask smaller than you want to bless me, please cancel my request and do what it is You want to do in my life! Sometimes He says “wait”. Yes or no aren’t God’s only responses. We can learn a lot in the waiting. Sometimes the “yes” is coming, but the timing is off. Sometimes a “no” is coming, but God wants us to come to that conclusion on our own. It’s good for us to know and to remember that God always answers prayers. And every answer is for our good and for His glory.

    Pastor T,

I needed to read this and be reminded of this very concept. I struggle at times with over thinking things and making decisions based on my emotion at the moment. This has been especially true in this season of my life. Lots of uncertainty in my personal situation and family situation as well. I’m learning a lot about scripture and how to apply it in my life. I see the passion you have for Christ, your love for him as well as the desire to see the family of GOD get that same passion and love in their hearts and in their lives. I hear the urgency in your voice and it touches my heart. The Holy Spirit is always so present and working in me every time I come to worship. I never leave Harvest without feeling the presence of the LORD. Thank you for answering the call GOD laid on your heart to serve him. He is blessing me with your obedience. Have a blessed day Pastor T.
